Draft #3

Apple Pie

For this draft I turned off the math and data-heavy spreadsheet and took up a challenge from a a friend who’d tasted and enjoyed both Draft 1 and 2.  He asked me to figure out what I thought the taste of America was.  Now THAT’s  a big question.  But I had a starting point, my tasting notes.  What flavor profiles and combinations were present there?  Orchard fruit, apples, pears, baking spice, vanilla… could America taste like... Apple Pie?

I proceeded to select and prioritize whiskeys that promised to bring the Apple Pie flavors to the fore.

The resulting blend was much gentler and delicate than Draft #2. But it didn’t taste like apple pie.
