Draft #6

Balancing Distinctive and Eminently Drinkable

This draft returns to the bold spice and malt flavors from Draft #2 while integrating about 10% of barrel-aged Draft #4 in the mix.  I introduced this element of barrel-aged 50StateBlend into draft #6 to enhance the bass-notes and add a depth of character to the flavor.   This process,  called Solera, is less common in Whiskey than with fortified wines like Sherry, Port and Marsala and even aged beer.   I like what this type of fractional blending does for flavor and the idea that all current and former 50StateBlend ingredients might be found in future iterations.
