Draft #10: Inauguration

I created this ultra-small batch to honor the heritage and history of President Biden and Vice President Harris through whiskey to mark their Inauguration  on January 20th, 2021.

Blending complex custom whiskeys to commemorate events remains one of my favorite activities!

Irish, French and English whisky have been added to represent Biden’s ancestry while Indian whiskey and Jamaican rum honor Harris.  (Jameson, [Ireland] Brenne, [France] Cotswalds, [England] Amrut [India] and Rhumb Runner [Jamaica].

Five different 50 State Blends form a 51.3 ml foundation for the Inauguration Blend, representing the 51.3% Popular vote.  These include Draft #1, #4BA, #7 (Electoral College Blend), #8 and #8 extra-barrel aged, as well as a whisper of a special 13 Colony Blend. 

Next comes a total of  306 ml of whiskey composed of bourbon, rye and single malt from each of the certified electoral votes from the States that made for the electoral college win.   

Finally, extra measures of whiskey from Biden’s birth state (Pennsylvania [Dad’s Hat Rye]), home state (Delaware) and University state (New York) join Harris’s birthplace and home state (California [Wright&Brown]), teen home (Montreal, CN [JP Wisers]) and University city (D.C.).  

In honor of the 46th President of the United States, Joe Biden, the ABV is 46% (or perhaps just a touch more).
